JAMMU, July 15: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday reviewed the arrangements for the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra during his visit to Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas, directing officials to ensure seamless facilities, enhanced security and efficient services for pilgrims.
The Lieutenant Governor interacted with officers of the Civil Administration, J&K Police, Army, CRPF and Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board, appreciating their efforts and asking them to treat every pilgrim as a “divine guest.” He noted that the Yatra has crossed the three lakh pilgrim mark within 12 days, making smooth registration, comfortable accommodation and hassle-free travel the administration’s highest priority.
He also instructed officials to promote Jammu Division’s spiritual and tourist destinations through sightseeing tours for pilgrims while encouraging the sale of local handicraft and handloom products. “Pilgrims should return home carrying beautiful memories of Jammu along with its handmade products,” he said.
During the review, the Lieutenant Governor assessed food safety measures, on-the-spot registration, transportation, lodging facilities and security arrangements. He directed optimum deployment of manpower, close monitoring of weather forecasts and strict action against fraudulent practices or misconduct by any official.
The Lieutenant Governor later interacted with devotees and wished them a safe, peaceful and blessed pilgrimage.
