North Korea fired what appeared to be a ballistic missile into its eastern sea, its second launch in a week, following leader Kim Jong Un’s calls to expand its nuclear weapons program in defiance of international opposition.
The military of South Korea also verified the launch of a “unidentified projectile,” but did not elaborate.
North Korea claimed last week that it had launched a “hypersonic missile” that had hit a target on Wednesday.
