‘Worst’ power scenario spark protest in the heart of Srinagar city

Srinagar, Apr 22, KNT: The women folk from the Gawkadal area of Srinagar city held a strong protest against Power Development Department (PDD) for its failure to provide electricity on regular basis.

The protesting residents alleged that even in this holy month of Ramadan, they are being deprived of basic amenities including regular power supply.

“Due to non-availability of electricity, we suffer a lot, but PDD is watching all this like a mute spectator”, one of the protesting women told news agency Kashmir News Trust.

The protesters blocked the road and sought the intervention of higher authorities.

They lamented that their repeated protests yield no fruits. Before dispersing, the protestors warned to intensify their protest if electricity is not made available as per schedule. (KNT)
