Srinagar, 18 Sep (KB): The second phase of the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections recorded an 54% voter turnout by 5pm, official said.
“All the 26 assembly constituencies of Jammu and Kashmir have recorded 54 percent voter turnout till 5pm in the second phase of Assembly Elections in the Union Territory”, communicated by the Chief Electoral Officer, J&K as per news agency Kashmir Bulletin
As per official district wise data available with KB reads that, Ganderbal recorded 58.81% voter turnout, Srinagar 27.31%, Budgam 58.97%, Reasi 71.81%, Rajouri 67.77% and Poonch recorded 71.59% voter turnout till 5pm.
The 2nd phase of General Elections to J&K Legislative Assembly is on going in 26 Assembly Constituencies (ACs) across six districts of Jammu & Kashmir.
In this phase, 25,78,099 lakh voters are eligible to cast their ballot, comprising 13,12,730 lakh male voters, 12,65,316 lakh female voters and 53 third-gender voters. This phase will determine the fate of 239 candidates.
The respective District Administrations have made elaborative arrangements at all the polling stations for free, fair and transparent elections. (KB)
