Srinagar, Dec 07: In a significant operation against drug trafficking and narcotics-related crimes, Anantnag Police on Saturday attached five residential houses and three vehicles, collectively valued at rupees 4.3 crores, under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.Giving details about attached properties, the police spokesperson said that Reyaz Ahmad Dar, son of Mohammad Ramzan Dar, a resident of Hassanpora Tawella, had his single-story house attached by Bijbehara Police for involvement in several NDPS cases.Mohammad Yousuf Reshi, son of Ali Mohammad Reshi, linked to a major narcotics recovery case, had his double-story house attached by Bijbehara Police.Subzar Ahmad Mir, son of Sonaullah Mir, also from Hassanpora Tawella, had his single-story residential property attached.Mohammad Shafi Dar, son of Mohammad Maqbool Dar, a resident of Tulkhan Bijbehara, saw his double-story residential house attached for NDPS activities.Abdul Hamid Chopan, a habitual offender from Malpora Ranipora, had his residential house, valued at Rs 30 lakhs, attached by Achabal Police.Besides police seized three vehicles which include a Santro car (JK02B-6823) belonging to Mohammad Shafi Dar, Wagon-R (HR28C-9580) owned by Manzoor Ahmad Mantoo, of Waghama Bijbehara, and a Toyota Corolla (HR51AL-0505) registered to Rahul Singh of New Delhi.These proactive measures reflect Anantnag Police’s commitment to dismantling drug trafficking networks and ensuring that those involved in such crimes face stringent legal consequences. By targeting the properties and assets of offenders, the police aim to deter further illegal activities and disrupt the financial backbone of drug networks, the spokesperson said.Police reaffirmed their dedication to creating a drug-free society and called upon the public to support their efforts in this vital mission.
