Srinagar, Feb 21. The School Education Department (SED) has issued a stern directive, recalling all teaching staff deployed in administrative roles across various offices in Kashmir and warning of strict action against violators.

In an official communiqué, the Director of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) emphasized that teaching staff assigned to administrative tasks in different departments had been ordered to return to their original postings on December 12, 2021, and July 1, 2024. However, despite clear instructions, many teachers, lecturers, and masters continue to work in non-teaching roles without formal approval.

The department expressed serious concerns over the failure of Chief Education Officers (CEOs), Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs), and Heads of Institutions (HoIs) to ensure compliance with these orders. DSEK has now reiterated that all teaching staff working outside their designated schools must immediately return to their original assignments.

The directive also applies to non-teaching staff working outside the parent department without formal approval. “All such officials shall be deemed relieved from their administrative roles and must report back to their substantive postings forthwith,” the communiqué stated.
Furthermore, DSEK warned that any DDO found drawing salaries for staff in violation of these orders will face strict disciplinary action, including the initiation of a Regular Departmental Action (RDA).

To ensure compliance, Chief Education Officers have been directed to submit a detailed report listing all employees involved in administrative duties, their original and current postings, the nature of work assigned, duration of deployment, and the date of their return to teaching roles.

The Chief Accounts Officer of DSEK has also been tasked with monitoring the implementation of these instructions and coordinating with Treasury Officers to track salary disbursements for any defaulters. [KNT]
