Srinagar, March 31: The President and Patron of the Press Club of Kashmir, M Saleem Pandit met with the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir Shri Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhawan on Tuesday. The meeting focused on key issues concerning the Press Club of Kashmir particularly the welfare and professional development of media personnel in the region.
During the discussion, Hon’ble LG Shri Manoj Sinha assured his full support in strengthening the Press Club of Kashmir and enhancing facilities for journalists working in the valley. Mr. Saleem Pandit also briefed the LG about the club’s plans to organize seminars and workshops to keep Kashmir-based media professionals updated on the latest developments in media policies.
The Hon’ble LG emphasized the need for responsible journalism and the importance of maintaining ethical values in reporting especially under the unique challenges faced by journalists in Jammu & Kashmir.
Appreciating the LG’s assurances, Saleem Pandit expressed his hope that with such support the Press Club of Kashmir would emerge as a model institution for media organizations across the country
