Handwara, Apr 25: J&K Peoples Conference Chairman Sajad Gani Lone launched a scathing attack on National Conference leaders, accusing Dr. Farooq and Omar Abdullah of enjoying freedom at the behest of BJP.
Speaking at a party convention in Handwara, Lone asserted that NC leaders must be held accountable for their actions, ranging from electoral malpractice to violence. He claimed that the father-son duo has been tasked by the BJP to sow seeds of division in the run-up to the Lok Sabha elections.
“Dr. Farooq and Omar are free thanks to the BJP’s favoritism. Dr. Farooq’s involvement in the J&K Cricket Association scam and Omar’s entanglement in the J&K Bank scam raise questions about their freedom,” Lone stated.
He accused the NC leadership of attempting to polarize communities, stating that their actions not only affect J&K but also the Muslim community in India.
Lone emphasized that the NC leaders must answer for the injustices committed under their rule, including the controversial 1987 elections and the deaths of numerous youth.
Claiming that Dr. Farooq and Omar are among the most protected individuals, Lone, who is contesting the Lok Sabha elections from Baramulla, expressed hope of securing 35-40% of the vote. He pledged to approach voters with humility, rejecting overconfidence.
