24 mutton shops sealed, 16 shopkeepers fined in Srinagar in 2 days: FCS&CA

Srinagar, Dec 31 (KNO): Authorities in Srinagar have sealed 24 mutton shops and fined 16 shopkeepers for violating the norms, officials said on Saturday.
As per the details available with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the Assistant Director (Enforcement) Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) department, Mushtaq Ahmad Wani, said that during the market checking on Friday and Saturday, a total of 144 business establishments were inspected.
A penal sum of Rs 23,000 has been collected as fine from 16 erring shopkeepers for violating Essential Commodities Act, 1995, he said, adding that 24 mutton shops have also been sealed.
During the month of December 2022, an amount of Rs 9,36,200 has been collected as fine from 1961 erring traders for violating E.C.Act and also 260 establishments have also been sealed—(KNO)
