New Delhi, July 25: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday announced that he has submitted his resignation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, following weeks of sustained student protests demanding his removal.
Pradhan made the announcement on his official X account just hours before the scheduled third round of talks between the Centre and the protesting Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. His resignation had been the protesters’ primary demand, with negotiations remaining deadlocked over the issue.
The development is expected to pave the way for fresh dialogue between the government and the protesters. However, there has been no official confirmation yet from the Prime Minister’s Office regarding the acceptance of Pradhan’s resignation.
