Srinagar, Sept 4: A powerful lightning strike was detected over Srinagar at approximately 2:48:33 a.m. on Friday, registering a peak current of around 107 kiloamperes (107,000 amperes).
According to weather kashmir, the event was most likely a cloud-to-ground lightning strike, making it a particularly significant high-current discharge. Lightning of this intensity is considered capable of causing serious damage to infrastructure, electrical systems, trees, and may pose a grave risk to human life if safety precautions are not observed.
Although no immediate reports of casualties or property damage were available at the time of filing this report.
