SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir is likely to experience generally dry weather until October 4, with the Meteorological Department forecasting brief spells of rain and light snowfall in some areas later this month.
MeT official said feeble Western Disturbances are expected to affect Jammu and Kashmir on September 24 and again on September 27.
The department said a brief spell of rain and light snow over higher reaches at a few places could occur on September 24 and towards the evening of September 27 and 28.
The MeT said the prevailing weather conditions are favourable for harvesting and advised farmers to ensure the safe storage of their produce during September 27 and 28.
