Srinagar: PDP MLA Waheed Para on Monday moved an adjournment motion in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly seeking an urgent discussion on the reservation issue.
Para called for an immediate debate on the matter, alleging that continued delays and the prevailing reservation framework were causing serious concerns among the youth of Jammu and Kashmir.
He asserted that the interests and future of students and aspirants competing under the open-merit category could not be compromised further, urging the House to take up the issue on priority.
The motion was moved on the first day of the Assembly session, bringing the reservation issue into focus at the outset of the proceedings.
