Arvind Kejriwal announced today that Bhagwant Mann is the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) chief ministerial candidate for Punjab, following an unique televote in which individuals were urged to call in their votes.
AAP president Arvind Kejriwal told reporters that Bhagwant Mann received more than 93 percent of the votes cast by phone and WhatsApp.
Navjot Singh Sidhu, the Punjab Congress president, received almost 3% of the vote. Several votes in Mr Kejriwal’s favour were found invalid.
