Srinagar, Oct 1 GNS: Arch-rivals India and Pakistan will face off in the final for the Men’s T20 cricket gold medal at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.
The high-voltage final is scheduled for Saturday, October 3 at Korogi Sports Park, Nisshin, with the toss at 10:00 AM IST.
India and Pakistan sealed their spots in the final after registering emphatic wins in the semi-finals on Thursday.
India thrashed Sri Lanka by 124 runs. After being put to bat, India scored 169/7 in 20 overs, riding on Ishan Kishan’s unbeaten 80 off 46 balls and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s 38. In reply, Sri Lanka were bundled out for just 45 in 9.5 overs.
In the other semi-final, Pakistan beat Bangladesh by six wickets in a rain-curtailed 13-over-a-side game. Pakistan chased down the revised target of 112 in 11.3 overs.
The winner of Saturday’s final will clinch the gold medal while the loser will take silver. Earlier in the day, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will play for the bronze medal.(GNS)
