Bengaluru: Man robs bank employee at knifepoint, flees with Rs 3.8 lakh cash, gold
A man recently entered a branch of the State Bank
India and robbed an employee at knifepoint.
an audacious incident reported from Bengaluru, a masked man between the age of 30-35, reportedly looted Rs 3.8 lakh cash and over Rs 78 lakh gold from a State Bank of India Branch.
The incident occurred at the BTM layout branch of the bank during the closing hours at around 5:40 pm when the two remaining employees of the bank, Harish N and Tejaswini, were wrapping up the day’s work.
As per the report by the Times Now, Harish, the manager in charge of the bank, revealed that there was no security at the branch and just the two of them were present when the incident occurred. The manager of the bank was on leave because of health issues and he was dispensing the duties in his stead.
He said that a man, covering his face with a mask, entered the premises and flashed a knife before them. He took the knife to the female employee’s neck and demanded the money.
“Fearing for our lives, Tejaswini and I took him to the strongroom and gave him Rs 3,75,200 and 1,860 grams of gold and kept in 17 pockets,” said Harish.
After pocketing the loot, the robber sprinted away from the spot. A police complaint of the incident was lodged with the police and an investigation is underway to search for the armed assailant.
