Man Arrested for Brutally Murdering Live-in Partner Over Egg Dispute

GURGAON: A horrific incident unfolded in Palam Vihar as a 35-year-old man was arrested in Delhi for allegedly bludgeoning his live-in partner to death at a construction site. Lallan Yadav, hailing from Bihar’s Madhepura, had been living in Delhi for six years following a family dispute. His wife had tragically passed away due to a snakebite.Approximately six months ago, Yadav met Anjali (32) in Delhi, and the two began a relationship, eventually moving in together in Gurgaon. The accused, in a statement to the police, admitted that on Tuesday, in an inebriated state, he had a heated argument with Anjali after she refused to cook eggs for dinner. Enraged, Yadav brutally attacked Anjali with a hammer and belt.Anjali’s body, with a mutilated face, was discovered at a construction site in the Choma area on Wednesday. The caretaker of the building, Surendra, revealed that the couple used to reside at the site. At the time of the discovery, Yadav had fled the scene. An FIR was lodged against Yadav under IPC Section 302 (murder) on Friday, and he was apprehended on Saturday from Delhi’s Sarai Kale Khan area. Police reported that Yadav confessed to the crime.Inspector Karamjeet Singh stated, “On March 10, the couple, along with others, had come to Gurgaon from Delhi for work. They were provided accommodation at the construction site by the contractor, as they had no other place to stay. On the night of March 12 and 13, Anjali and Yadav had a quarrel over dinner, leading to her tragic demise.”Yadav attempted to evade arrest but was eventually tracked down by the police. The murder weapons, a hammer and belt, were seized from the crime scene. The police have indicated that Anjali was bludgeoned to death.
