5-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 30-year-old neighbour in the Awadhpuri locality on Monday night. The accused and the girl’s father consumed liquor together.Later, the girl’s father went to sleep,The accused then gave a Rs 100 note to the minor, who was playing with her three-year-old brother outside her shanty, to purchase a flavoured mango drink.When she brought the drink, he took her to the under-construction building and raped her. As she started screaming, her parents rushed to the spot and found that the accused disrobed the girl. Meanwhile, the accused fled the spot.The girl’s parents informed the police on Dial-100, and later on Tuesday, a rape case was registered against the accused under relevant sections of BNS and the POCSO Act.The accused was arrested.SHO Awadhpuri Ratan Singh Parihar said that the survivor, 5, along with her parents and 3-year-old brother, resides in a shanty at an under-construction site in a colony in the area. The accused, 30, hails from Seoni district.SHO Parihar said that on Monday night, the girl’s father and the accused drank together. Her father went to sleep while her mother was inside the shanty, busy preparing dinner when the accused lured the minor.
