Srinagar, June 11: Health and Education Minister Sakina Itoo on Wednesday said the government is closely monitoring the ongoing heatwave and may announce an early summer break for schools if the situation demands.
Speaking to reporters, Itoo stated, “The School Education Department is assessing the weather conditions. If we find it necessary to declare an early summer vacation, we will take that decision accordingly.”
She noted that the heatwave had only begun two days ago, adding, “If the hot weather persists, we will act as needed.”
Commenting on tourism, the minister highlighted Kashmir’s appeal, saying, “Kashmir is a renowned tourist destination, and we encourage more visitors to come and enjoy its natural beauty.”
Additionally, Itoo confirmed that a committee has finalized the reservation report, which will be presented to the Cabinet for discussion.
