Daily Newspapers’ Delegation Meets Director Information; Director Assures Resolution of Issues, Quality Journalism Encouraged…

Srinagar, July 9: A delegation comprising editors and representatives of various daily newspapers today met with the Director Information & Public Relations to discuss the pressing concerns faced by the newspaper industry in the region.

During the meeting, which lasted for an extended duration, the delegation highlighted multiple issues pertaining to advertisement rates and overall support for sustaining quality journalism.

The Director Information listened patiently to all concerns raised by the members and assured them that all genuine issues would be addressed on priority. He further committed to taking up the matter of enhancing advertisement rates with higher authorities to ensure that the newspapers are better supported financially.

Editors present in the meeting expressed their satisfaction over the proactive and empathetic approach of the Director. They specifically appreciated his efforts in bringing about grassroots improvements in the newspaper sector by personally involving himself in promoting qualitative journalism.

The delegation also conveyed their gratitude to the Director for his continued constructive support and assured full cooperation in upholding ethical and responsible journalism.

This crucial meeting marks a positive step towards strengthening the relationship between the Department of Information and the newspaper fraternity, with hopes that the longstanding concerns of the press community will be resolved effectively in the days to come.
