He said whatever happened on August 05, 2019 was against the will of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The special status to Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 and 35(A) was abrogated by Modi led central government on August 05, 2019, and downgraded the erstwhile state into two Union Territories – J&K and Ladakh.Lone while commenting on the resolution passed by the house said, “As far as this Assembly is concerned, this is the most powerful and relevant institution which will either morally or politically accept the decisions taken on August 05, 2019, or reject it”.When asked about the uproar by opposition over the move, he said this is not mere Assembly. “This is the viewpoint of the majority people of Jammu & Kashmir. This is not mere Assembly,” Lone added.
