(ST) Bad roads give tough time to locals in Central Jail Kathi Darwaza Srinagar, Road
are in a dilapidated condition from last Seven years due to the negligence of successive governments.
Locals told SHAHARBEEN TIMES that all the roads including
Khaja Yarbal road, Shah Abad road, Hatti khan Central Jail Road are in shambles as the administration has failed to maintain them for last 7 years.
“We have to face a lot of inconvenience owing to the dilapidated condition of roads in the main road . The successive regimes have failed to upgrade them. There has been no macadamization of roads
Locals said that last year authorities carried out some patchwork on road but its condition is same as was Seven years ago.
The road was not macadamized hence the condition of the road became worse.
The road is dotted with potholes which speaks volumes about the tall claims of the government,” the residents said.
Locals said that inner road are in a very bad condition, thereby making people suffer immensely.
“The roads are dotted with potholes and when it rains they are filled with water and we have to face problems on these roads. There is also no proper drainage system which makes walking on these roads more difficult, mostly during the rainy season,” they said.
They told our Camera man Zia Shakeel said that despite repeated pleas to the concerned authorities, the roads have not been upgraded since the past many years. The locals made a fervent appeal to the Governor to personally look into the matter and help resolve their problems.
