Srinagar, Nov 3: BJP senior leader and MLA, Sunil Sharma, has been chosen as the Leader of the Opposition (LOP) for the upcoming Assembly session. Additionally, the party has nominated Narender Singh as its candidate for the Deputy Speaker position.
This decision was made during a BJP legislative party meeting held this afternoon at Church Lane, Sonwar, in Srinagar. The meeting, attended by all 28 BJP MLAs, also focused on finalizing the party’s strategy for the Assembly session starting tomorrow at the Assembly complex in Srinagar.
Following the sudden passing of Devender Rana, MLA from Nagrota, the BJP’s legislative strength has decreased from 29 to 28 members. The party aims to adopt a unified stance during the session, emphasizing key issues and reinforcing its position as the primary opposition.
