Say tipper seized, driver also arrested

Ganderbal, July 06 (KNO): The Jammu and Kashmir police on Tuesday arrested a local contractor for illegal possession of cement bags meant to be used by the Border Road Organization (BRO) in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a team headed by sub-divisional police officer Kangan and station house office Gund arrested a contractor identified as Ishtiyaq Ahmad Shah son of Abdul Ahad, resident of Fraw Haknar area of Gund and recovered over 200 bags of cement from his possession.

He said that around 200 cements bags, which were meant to be utilized by BRO, were recovered from his possession at his residence, besides tipper was seized as well.

The official said that the driver of the vehicle identified as Altaf Ahmad Kumar son Mohammad Ramzan, resident of Fraw Gund was also arrested.

He said that a case has been registered and further investigation has been taken up in this regard—(KNO)
