Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Shahzad Alam on Wednesday chaired a public outreach programme at Frisal, assuring swift redressal of public grievances.
July 15, Srinagar:The District Administration Kulgam on Wednesday organized a public outreach programme at Frisal Block to strengthen public engagement and ensure timely redressal of grievances at the grassroots level.
The programme, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Shahzad Alam, witnessed participation from public representatives, local residents and officers from various government departments.
During the interaction, residents raised issues related to road connectivity, drinking water supply, electricity, healthcare, irrigation and other essential civic services.
After hearing the grievances, the Deputy Commissioner directed concerned departments to take immediate and time-bound action for their resolution. He reiterated the administrationβs commitment to transparent, accountable and people-centric governance, emphasizing the importance of public outreach programmes in improving coordination between the administration and citizens.
Those present included Additional Deputy Commissioner Viqar Ahmad Giri, Assistant Commissioner Development Bilal Ahmad Kamgar, Tehsildar Yaripora Javid Ahmad, and senior officers from Jal Jeevan Mission, Roads and Buildings, JKPDCL, Health Department, Irrigation Department and other allied departments.
The administration assured residents that all genuine issues raised during the programme would be addressed on priority to improve service delivery and accelerate development in the area.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner inaugurated a volleyball tournament at Badroo, Kulgam, under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA).
Addressing the gathering, Alam highlighted the role of sports in promoting a healthy lifestyle and encouraging youth to stay away from drug abuse. He urged young people to participate in sports and constructive activities, describing them as important tools for building a drug-free and progressive society.
He also said that increased awareness among local people has encouraged greater participation in sports activities and community initiatives. (SHABD)
