Death of 25-year old labourer: Local Muslims help a non-local Hindu family in cremation

Sopore, July 5, KNT: Local Muslims here in apple town of Sopore extending a help hand to a non-local Hindu family to get one of their family members cremated after his death on Monday.

A 25-year non-local labourer identified as Pawan Kumar son Pokhan Kumar, a resident of Ferozpore Punjab died today after developing some complications. The family is living in a rented accommodation near a private school in Sopore town of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Family sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that the deceased was recently discharged by the doctors from SMHS Hospital Srinagar with the advice he should avoid taking drugs.

During intervening night of Sunday and Monday the deceased was shifted to local hospital after he complained of severe headache. Kumar died in the hospital on Monday morning.

As the locals heard about the news of his death, they visited the family and arranged all the stuff for cremation. The family members with the help of locals cremated Kumar at Chankhan area of Sopore along the river bank of Jehlum. (KNT)
