KPDCL Announces Power Outage Schedule Effective Across Kashmir

SRINAGAR: Due to essential maintenance and infrastructure upgrades, the Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced scheduled power outages in various parts of Srinagar and surrounding areas from October 26 to 31, 2024.According to the Chief Engineer of KPDCL, the outages are necessary for reconductoring, pole erection, branch cutting, and preventive maintenance on several 33KV lines, impacting power supply to numerous areas.On October 26 and 28, power supply to Miskeen Bagh, Rozbal, Makhdoom Sahib, Hazaribagh, Jogi Lanker, JLNM Hospital, and several other areas will be disrupted from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM due to the reconductoring of the 33 KV Khanyar-Rainawari line.Additionally, on October 26, the Soura, Zoonimar, Baspora, and Anchar areas will experience power outages from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM for the installation of a four-pole tower near Aiwah Bridge.Areas around Cheshmashahi, Nishat, Shalimar, and Harwan will face outages on October 29 and 31 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM due to tree pruning along the 33KV Cheshmashahi-Brein Nishat and Cheshmashahi Shalimar Harwan lines.Other areas affected on October 26 include Magam, Aripanthan, Budran, and Pethkanihama, which will see outages from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM for line stabilization.Similarly, Shariefabad, Wadwan, and Soibugh will be without power on October 26, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, for maintenance on the 33 KV Shariefabad-Wadwan line.The Bemina, Karan Nagar, and Batamaloo areas will be affected on October 26 and 27, with outages scheduled from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM for tree cutting and preventive maintenance on the 33 KV Bemina-Karan Nagar, Bemina-I/II, and Bemina-Exhibition lines.Industrial estates in Khrew and Wuyan will face power cuts on October 27 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM for branch cutting on the 33 KV Pampore-SIDCO line, affecting Cement Plants and industrial zones.Pulwama’s Tenghar, Pinglena, and nearby areas will experience outages on October 26 and 28 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM for routine maintenance work on the 33KV Pulwama-Pinglena Tap Line.
