Bandipora, Aug 20 : A woman, mother of four children, died after receiving an electric shock during an earthquake in the Odina area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora this morning, officials said.

An official told the news aggregator—Kashmir Bulletin (KB) that a woman was repairing an electrical appliance at her home in Odina Bandipora when the earthquake struck the Kashmir Valley in the morning, and she was electrocuted.

He added that the woman was later transferred to the hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival. Furthermore, the woman was reportedly the mother of four children.

She was later identified as Rafeeqa Begum (42), wife of Mohd Maqbool Dar, a resident of Aliabad Odina Sumbal, Bandipora.

Moreover, police have taken up the investigation. Lastly, in Baramulla, a man reportedly jumped out of a window in a bid to escape the tremors. He was injured, as his condition remains stable.
