Overnight camp brings fun for kids of Srinagar DPS

Srinagar: Shaharbeen Times 20th August 2022: After going on a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Delhi Public School Srinagar organised inhouse Overnight Camp for Kindergarten students on 19th and 20th of August, 2022 wherein children involved themselves in fun activities throughout the day, and stayed for a night in school.



Learning is not limited to the doors of classroom. Overnight camp offers a golden opportunity for the students to hone different life skills, while having fun. Children learn more by seeing and doing. They not only enjoy but reflexively imbibe the essence of each activity.
Overnight Camp is the best time to let them indulge in what they love and hone their creative skills. Driven by this aim, DPS, Srinagar organised an exciting and stimulating Overnight Camp for Kindergarten students on 19th and 20th August 2022. The students got a golden opportunity to tap their inner potentials, shed their inhibitions and explore themselves under the expert guidance of qualified teachers.
This year’s camp provided varied forms of art and learning oriented activities which gave wings to creativity and satiated the inquisitiveness of the eager minds and added to their developing range of skills.
A wide range of exciting activities were major part of the camp – Art, (Fabric Painting, Glass & Pot Painting etc) to help the students develop their bilateral coordination, fine motor skills and promote their artistic efforts. Fun race to develop physical and mental health, Dance and Music to develop kinaesthetic skills and graceful coordination and self-control., Hip-Hop to provide a great outlet for not only their energy but also artistic expression and block games to enhance concentration, patience and perseverance and develop creativity, intuition and memory. The students got an opportunity to freely explore their talents and also learn new things that would aid their personality development.
To keep the parents also a part of the camp, the school telecasted the camp live, due to which parents also showed a lot of interest. Talking to Shahrbeen Times, parent said “The Live Visuals of the overnight camp were tremendous and we felt like we were also present in camp with children, we deeply hailed the dedication of skilled and expert staff of DPS”.


The idea behind the event was to engage the kids in activities that they find both enjoyable and meaningful and also to provide a uniform platform for all children to explore and express their creativity, in any form.
