Amid the holy month of Ramadhan, Panzin village in Ganderbal district are facing acute shortage of drinking water.
Locals in these areas accused that district administration and authorities concerned of failing to provide adequate drinking water supply in the village.
Parts of Kashmir have been suffering an acute shortage of drinking water during the ongoing holy month of Ramadan, with the residents accusing the authorities of indifference.
We are facing inconvenience due to the issue. Most of the time, our taps are running dry and we are unable to do our routine work. We have to walk for miles to fetch water from other areas. It is ironical that we are being deprived of basic facilities,” said , a local.
“When I opened the tap to perform ablution after Sehri (predawn meals), there was not a drop of water,” said Mohammad Arif a resident of Panzin kangan .
The taps are running dry. We brought into the notice of concerned officials many a days but nobody is paying heed to our repeated pleas,” Aijaz Ahmad, a resident of kangan said.
