Srinagar, Feb 21 – The latest weather data compiled by Kashmir Weather indicates moderate rainfall and snowfall across Jammu and Kashmir over the past 24 hours, with some regions receiving significant precipitation.
Kashmir Region
The highest rainfall in the Kashmir Valley was recorded in Kokernag (27.2 mm), Tangmarg (14.2 mm), and Pahalgam (14.6 mm)**. Srinagar city received 11.4 mm, while Gulmarg recorded 7.8 mm of rain along with 7 cm of snowfal
Notably, Nowgam Handwara (16.4 mm), Qazigund (14.2 mm), and Tral (13.0 mm) also saw substantial precipitation. Meanwhile, Kupwara (9.6 mm), Baramulla (12.0 mm), and Pampore (11.0 mm) received moderate rainfall.
Jammu Region
The Jammu region experienced heavier rainfall, with Batote recording the highest at 48.1 mm (1 cm snow), followed by Banihal (38.9 mm, 15 cm snow) and Bhaderwah (41.0 mm, 9 cm snow). Jammu city received 27.4 mm, while Katra saw 27.7 mm of rain.
Other areas such as Udhampur (34.6 mm), Kathua (34.2 mm), and Ramban (35.5 mm) reported notable precipitation. RS Pura (28.0 mm), Poonch (23.0 mm), and Samba (20.5 mm) also witnessed moderate rainfall.
Ladakh Region
Leh remained dry with no recorded precipitation, while data for Kargil and Drass remains unavailable
Weather Outlook
The weather department has forecasted possible intermittent rain and snow in higher altitudes over the next 24 hours. Residents are advised to stay updated with local weather bulletins for any changes in conditions.
