Dr. Abdul Lateef Al-Kindi, a distinguished scholar, hails from Ramban, Jammu, where his journey of intellectual curiosity and academic excellence began. Presently settled in Batamaloo, Srinagar, Dr. Al-Kindi’s upbringing in the picturesque valley of Kashmir has undoubtedly influenced his scholarly pursuits and commitment to the Islamic cause. Dr. Abdul Lateef Al-Kindi, a distinguished scholar, has been elected as the president of Jamiat Ahlihadith Jammu and Kashmir on 25th of February 2024, marking a new chapter in the organization’s leadership. Dr. Al-Kindi’s journey to this prestigious position is marked by a remarkable academic and professional background.

Dr. Al-Kindi embarked on his academic journey with a Bachelor of Oriental Learning from the University of Kashmir, a testament to his early dedication to scholarly pursuits. He then pursued Aalimiat and Fazilat from Alkuliya Salafia, completing an 8-year course in 1987, which laid a strong foundation for his future studies.In 1995, Dr. Al-Kindi graduated from Kuliya tul Hadees College at the Islamic University of Madinah, Saudi Arabia, showcasing his commitment to Islamic studies on an international platform. His thirst for knowledge led him to further academic achievements, culminating in an M.A in AQEEDAH from Kuliya Dawah wa Sharìya in 1999 and a Ph.D. in Aqeedah from the same institution in 2005, both from the Islamic University of Madinah, Saudi Arabia. Dr. Al-Kindi’s academic achievements are complemented by his prowess as a professor, orator, and writer, earning him accolades such as the Madina Award. His dedication to scholarship and his contributions to the field of Islamic studies are widely recognized.
Prior to his presidency, Dr. Al-Kindi served Jamiat Ahlihadith Jammu and Kashmir in various capacities, including as the general secretary under the dynamic leadership of Professor Ghulam Mohammad Bhat. His tenure as the vice president further solidified his commitment to the organization’s ideals and goals.
CHALLENGES:
As President, Dr. Abdul Lateef Al-Kindi will face several significant challenges that require his immediate attention and strategic planning. Foremost among these challenges is the imperative to unite the members of Jamiat Ahlihadith Jammu and Kashmir under a common vision and purpose.
