Srinagar, Dec 23: Sheikh Imran prominent political leader has condemned the National Conference BJP coalition government for its alleged exploitation of general category youth calling it “unacceptable.” Imran has pledged to stand with the protesting youth in Srinagar aiming to amplify their concerns about the future of open merit opportunities.
Despite being away from Kashmir for over two weeks Imran announced his commitment to return promptly. “I am making every effort to catch the earliest flight to Srinagar” he stated. “The future of our youth, especially those in open merit cannot be compromised. I will stand with them outside the Chief Minister’s residence to raise their voices against this injustice.”
Sheikh Imran stressed that tomorrow 23rd Dec would be a day of unity and focus solely on the youth. “For politicians like me, this is a moment to be apolitical. It’s not about parties or politics—it’s about saving open merit and protecting the future of our youth,” he declared. Acknowledging differences with the Srinagar MP, Imran appreciated his efforts to honor commitments on the issue, though he remarked that some view the actions as a “fixed match.”
Quoting the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), he emphasized the importance of leadership in service: “The leader of a people is their servant” (Sunan Abu Dawood, 2858). He urged political separatist and religious leaders, including Mirwaiz Umar Farooq to rise above their differences and join the cause.
In a heartfelt appeal, Sheikh Imran called for the protest to remain peaceful and united. “This is not a matter of politics but a fight to secure and protect the future of our vibrant youth,” he concluded.
