South Kashmir: Encounter breaks out in Shopian
Third encounter in less than 24 hours in Kashmir, 4th in J&K
Srinagar, October 11:(GNS) Encounter has started between militants and government forces in Tulran area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Monday.
Reports reaching GNS that a joint team of Police, Army’s 34RR and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Tulran.
As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight.
A senior police officer also confirmed to GNS about exchange of firing between militants and security forces.
As per the sources two to three militants are believed to be trapped.
Pertinently this is third Encounter in Valley since last 24 hrs, two militants were killed one each from Anantnag and Bandipora.(GNS)
