Srinagar, Dec 25: The Kashmir Valley continues to reel under an intense cold wave as Srinagar recorded a freezing temperature of -7.3°C today. Other parts of the region also witnessed bone-chilling temperatures, with Pulwama and Shopian plunging to -9.1°C, making them the coldest places in the Valley.
The minimum temperatures across various regions were as follows:
Kashmir Region:
- Srinagar: -7.3°C
- Qazigund: -6.6°C
- Sonamarg: -7.5°C
- Bandipora: -7.2°C
- Budgam: -7.8°C
- Anantnag: -9.0°C
- Larnoo: -8.6°C
Jammu Region:
- Jammu: 7.1°C
- Banihal: -1.3°C
- Batote: 0.7°C
- Padder: -9.5°C
Ladakh:
- Leh: -12.6°C
- Kargil: -12.0°C
The freezing conditions have led to widespread frost, affecting daily life and making it challenging for residents to cope. Authorities have advised people to take precautions against extreme cold, especially during early mornings and late evenings.
