Son Allegedly Kills Mother in Rafiabad Sopore, Accused Held
Srinagar, Apr 15: A tragic incident unfolded in Rafiabad area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district as an elderly woman was allegedly killed by her son.
According to an official report received by Shaharbeen Times, the victim, identified as a 48-year-old woman from Hadipora Sopore, was attacked with a knife by her son, resulting in critical injuries. Despite being rushed to the Sub-district hospital in Sopore, the doctors declared her brought dead on arrival.
Upon receiving the information, the police immediately responded to the scene and apprehended the accused, identified as Amir Farooq Wani.
A case has been registered under FIR number 28/2024, invoking relevant sections of the law, and further investigations are underway. The weapon used in the crime has been seized from the spot, confirmed the official.
