Due to sustained action by Police, heroin cases have seen continuous reduction and there is a steep dip in instances of usage of heroin in Baramulla

Continuing its action against drug menace, Police have registered 79 cases under NDPS act, arrested 145 drug peddlers which include 36 hard-core drug peddlers who have been booked under PIT NDPS & seized 14 vehicles which were used for NDPS activities in Baramulla district during four months of 2024.
Police have also recovered contraband & psychotropic substances worth 1.88 Crores (value of contraband in black market).
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.`
