SRINAGAR: More than 153 people have been confirmed dead in Sri Lanka after Cyclone Ditwah triggered widespread landslides and flooding, Reuters reported,The Disaster Management Centre, as per srilankan local media reported that more than 191 people remain missing, while over half a million have been affected across multiple districts. More than 78,000 residents have been moved to nearly 800 relief centres, the majority of which have been set up in schools.Rescue and recovery operations are ongoing, with emergency teams warning that the casualty figures may increase as access improves to cut-off areas. Authorities have urged residents in high-risk zones to remain vigilant amid continuing threats of further landslides and rising water levels.
