Srinagar, Aug 1: A cloudburst struck the Chatroo area of Kishtwar district at around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, causing damage to property and disrupting road connectivity, according to Kashmir Weather.
Initial reports indicate that several vehicles were washed away in the flash floods triggered by the cloudburst. Property damage has also been reported, while authorities are assessing the full extent of the destruction.
Fortunately, no loss of life or injuries have been reported so far.
Following the incident, the Chatroo–Kishtwar National Highway has been closed for vehicular movement as a precautionary measure. Officials are monitoring the situation, and restoration work is expected to begin once conditions improve.
