Sheikh Imtiyaz Ahmad

SRINAGAR / CHENNAI — In a major push to extend the reach of its ongoing and highly successful School Connect Program, the Director of IIT Madras has extended a warm invitation to schools across Jammu and Kashmir to reach out, connect, and enroll in the initiative.

The development unfolded during an interactive meeting at the IIT Madras campus, where the Director met with a delegation of senior journalists from Kashmir, who are currently visiting Chennai on a media tour sponsored by the Press Information Bureau (PIB) Srinagar.

During the high-profile interaction, the Director explicitly requested the visiting media fraternity to use their platform to disseminate information about the program to every corner of the valley.

“We want you to spread this message among the schools in Kashmir. Tell them to reach out to us, connect, and join this program. We welcome schools from Jammu and Kashmir with open arms,” the Director stated. He emphasized that the initiative is designed to introduce school-level students to cutting-edge skills like Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Electronic Systems, and he wants the youth of Kashmir to reap its full benefits.

Shaharbeen Times Takes the Lead in Spreading the Message
Acting swiftly on the Director’s call to action, Shaharbeen Times is actively leading the campaign to publicize this historic educational opportunity across Jammu and Kashmir. The program provides an unprecedented online learning and certification platform for students of Classes IX to XII. School heads, principals, and educational administrators across the region are urged to immediately establish contact with IIT Madras and register their institutions so that local students do not miss out on the upcoming October cohort.

A Gesture of Traditional Kashmiri Hospitality
The meeting concluded on a cordial note reflecting deep cultural appreciation. To honor the Director’s welcoming and inclusive stance toward the students of the Union Territory, the Kashmiri journalistic delegation presented him with a finely crafted, traditional Kashmiri Shawl along with a commemorative memento. The team expressed their sincere gratitude to the Director for his time, hospitality, and visionary approach toward expanding technical education horizons for the youth of Kashmir.
