Srinagar, Sep 21 Apni Party chief spokesman Mohiuddin Muntazir’s support to former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in central Kashmir’s Budgam segment has kicked off a major political storm.

In a surprising political development, Apni Party chief spokesman Mohiuddin Muntazir, who is considered close to top leadership of the party, on Friday said that he has decided to support Omar Abdullah. “After consulting with friends and well-wishers, I withdrew my nomination papers in favour of Omar Abdullah. My friends unanimously agreed that supporting the former Jammu Kashmir chief minister is the right decision,” he had said as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO)

AP leader’s support to Omar Abdullah has created ripples in political circles of Kashmir Valley, with these developments being closely watched by different stakeholders.

“We have seen Mohiuddin Muntazir has extended support to Omar Abdullah. Everyone knows that he has been working as an important member of BJP after 2019,” Peoples Democratic Party spokesman Mohit Bhan told reporters here.

It is worthwhile to mention that National Conference has dubbed Apni Party as BJP’s B-team.

Bhan asked NC MP Aga Ruhullah whether he has questioned the party over seeking support of BJP’s B-team.

In a damage-control move, the Apni Party said that it has issued a show-cause to Muntazir Mohiuddin.

“The Apni Party issued a show cause notice to its chief spokesperson Muntazir Mohiuddin for his purported remarks supporting Omar Abdullah, “the party said—(KNO)
