Police register case against St Mary School Management
Jammu, May 16, KNT: After the death of a teacher at a Private School in Jammu due to Covid-19, Police have registered a formal case against the School Management for violating the government guidelines and keep the school functional even during the period of lockdown.
The school in question is Saint Mary Presentation Convent Secondary School located in Gandhi Nagar area of Jammu.
A Police Officer from Gandhi Nagar Police Station told News Agency Kashmir News Trust that one of the teachers at St. Mary School had died due to Covid-19 while the inquiry conducted by the Executive Magistrate found the school management responsible for violating Covid-19 related SOPs.
“We have lodged an FIR vide number 154/2021 under section 188/269/270/506 IPC, 3 Epidemic diseases act 1897 and 51 disaster management Act 2005 against the Principal and Vice Principal of the school,” the police officer told KNT.
