Srinagar, July 29: An intense evening downpour triggered flash floods in the Dardgund area of Devsar in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, causing damage to property, livestock and agricultural land.
According to Kashmir Weather, two cowsheds were washed away in the flash floods, while one cow perished after being swept away by the overflowing waters. The sudden surge in the local stream also inundated nearby agricultural and horticultural fields, causing losses to farmers.
Reports said the full extent of the damage is yet to be assessed and is expected to be known during the morning hours. Local authorities are likely to conduct a detailed assessment of the affected areas.
