Sopore | 8 August 2025 — Acting on public demand and growing concerns over food safety, the Food Safety Department Sopore carried out raids and inspections across multiple markets in the town.
During the surprise checks, rotten and unhygienic meat was reportedly found being sold at some locations. Officials confirmed that strict action will be taken against all violators to ensure the safety of consumers.
The department has assured the public that regular inspections will continue, and any shopkeeper found selling expired, unhygienic, or harmful food items will face legal consequences.
