Altered all police stations along Jhelum to keep vigil
Srinagar, April 17 – IGP Kashmir V K Birdi on Wednesday said that the search operation continues in Srinagar to retrieve the bodies.
Talking to reporters in Srinagar as per news agency Kashmir Scroll, IGP said that rescue operation almost continued in the night also and it was resumed early in the morning.
“We are still searching to get the bodies but as of now there aren’t any new developments,” he said, adding that people part of the rescue operation have their own understanding of water and water currents and they are searching areas where they are finding the high probability of bodies may be.
Generally the body comes on the surface itself, we are looking for it also and operation is going to retrieve the bodies, he said.
He said that all police stations along the river Jhelum have been alerted to look out for all these things.
It is pertinent to mention here that a boat capsized a day before in Srinagar in which six persons lost their lives, many were rescued while three are still missing. (KS)
