*Inhuman to deny family right to burial of their loved ones: APHC on Geelani’s burial *

Srinagar, Sep 06 (KNO): The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) Monday denounced the filing of an FIR against late Syed Ali Shah Geelani’s family by the state authorities in connection with his death.

APHC, in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said the details shared by Geelani’s son in media that the authorities took his body into their custody, and buried it on their own without the knowledge and participation of the family, is appalling and painful to hear.

“It is so tragically inhuman when a family is denied the basic right of burial of their loved one and one can only imagine what the family must have gone through. After such harshness the authorities are now harassing the family with FIRs and threats of arrests, further exposing their cruelty,” the statement reads.

APHC said that in this hour of grief and injustice the whole nation stands with the family of the deceased leader—(KNO)
