Ahmedabad: The Gujarat Anti-Terror Squad has detained a Muslim cleric in connection with the murder of a man, stating that the cleric and the killers plotted the murder to ‘punish’ the victim for making undesirable comments about their faith and community on social media.

On January 25, Kishan Boliya, 25, was shot and killed by gunmen on motorcycles in Gujarat’s Dhandeka town. The Anti-Terror Squad launched an inquiry into the incident on Saturday, following claims that the guy had been slain for an offensive post about Muslims that was uploaded on January 6.
Maulvi Kamargani Usmani was arrested in Delhi, according to ATS officials. He is the second cleric to be apprehended in the case, following Mohammad Ayub Javrawala, who was apprehended in Ahmedabad on Friday. Usmani is also accused of indoctrinating youth in his neighbourhood and inciting them to assault people who disrespected the Islamic Prophet Muhammad through the social organisation he manages.
