Srinagar, March — A massive Eid congregation was held at the revered Hazratbal shrine, where over one lakh devotees offered Eid prayers in a spiritually uplifting atmosphere. The arrangements for the grand gathering were made by the Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board, drawing widespread appreciation from the public.
Chairperson of the Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board, Dr. Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, also offered Eid prayers at the shrine. Following the prayers, people lauded Dr. Andrabi and the Waqf Board for the well-organized and efficient arrangements put in place for the smooth conduct of the congregation.
Expressing gratitude over the public appreciation, Dr. Andrabi thanked the people for acknowledging the Board’s efforts. Addressing the gathering, she noted that after several days of rain, the pleasant weather on Eid day provided relief to devotees. She highlighted that the Board had created waterproof prayer facilities across the campus to ensure comfort and convenience for the large number of worshippers.
“In the entire Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the Board had made comprehensive arrangements at all major Eidgahs and prayer locations. We are thankful to the people for their cooperation,” she said.
Dr. Andrabi further stated that the positive response from the public has encouraged the Board to continue serving with greater dedication and responsibility in the future. She also expressed hope that the festival of Eid would bring peace, prosperity, and harmony to the country and the world.
