Minor drowns to death in Kashmir

Srinagar, May 15 (KS): A minor boy lost his life after he drowned in a water canal in his native village of Inderkoot area of Sumbal in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Wednesday.

An official told the news agency Kashmir Scroll that a 7-year-old boy identified as Suhail Ahmad, son of Zulafkar Dar of Bun Mohahalla Inderkoot Sumbal, drowned in a canal.

However, after the hectic efforts of locals, the body was retrieved from the canal and taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead on arrival.

Meanwhile, the police have taken cognizance of this incident. (KS)
