Maharashtra: New restrictions imposed in Nagpur due to spike in Covid cases; mass gatherings, processions banned till March 19
In Maharashtra, Nagpur division is witnessing a spike in Covid 19 cases. Yesterday 1070 new covid-19 cases were registered in Nagpur district alone. Amravati district is also registering 600 plus cases since the last 5 days.
New restrictions are imposed in Nagpur district due to the recent spike of Covid cases. District collector Ravindra Thakre had directed people in rural areas of Nagpur district to inform the respective local authorities about wedding ceremonies at home too.
Commissioner of police Nagpur Amitesh Kumar has also issued notification banning any mass gatherings, taking out procession or holding public gatherings, from March 5th to 19th.The order is issued as pragat Din of Gajanan Maharaj is being observed in large scale in the city by individuals and social and religious organisations.
